Salt: Bosphorus
Salt is the title of an ongoing series of collections. Each photography collection is closely related to a certain place as it is directly impacted by the sea water. This continuing series of photographic collections originates from a robbery during which two mechanical film cameras were submerged in sea water and were subsequently destroyed. The film from them was recovered and developed. The damaged images are the result of the interplay of salt, emulsion and mechanics.
Controlled destruction of the photographic base allows the photographs to undergo a metamorphosis caused by the sea water. In this collection the photographs take the Bosphorus strait as subject matter, form and content. It plays a role in each part of them.
