Mask (2025) investigates the psychological intersections of landscape and perception. Photographing outward through a carved cave window, the composition utilizes the jagged architectural aperture as a natural framing device to isolate a specific exterior rock formation. Through this precise topographical alignment, the weathered stone undergoes an anthropomorphic shift, its deep fissures and heavy volumes coalescing into a monumental face.

The conceptual weight of this illusion is further amplified by its material translation. The photograph is reproduced in opaque white ink across a dense, lightless expanse of black paper, subjecting the image to a radical tonal inversion. This chromatic reversal deliberately strips the subject of its naturalistic, geological reality, dissolving the sunlit Cappadocian landscape into a stark, spectral apparition. It becomes the titular mask. A disembodied presence suspended between geology and illusion.
