Break Lines
(2026) appropriates the utilitarian vernacular of mechanical schematics, utilizing extreme macro photography to isolate specific diagrams from a motorcycle repair manual. By extracting these technical drawings from their instructional context, the work forces a hyper-focused reexamination of the drafted marks, elevating overlooked industrial ephemera into the realm of formal abstraction.

The title functions as both a material descriptor and a conceptual double entendre. While the source imagery diagrams the hydraulic "brake lines" of a motorcycle, the macroscopic lens emphasizes the drafting technique itself: the dotted trajectories that map the mechanical pathways. These dashed vectors become literal "break lines"—intervals of positive and negative space that interrupt the continuity of the visual plane, transforming a functional map into a study of fragmentation and rhythmic pause.

In its final iteration, the photographic image is translated into a silkscreen print, rendered in stark white pigment across a void of black canvas. This high-contrast chromatic inversion radically subverts the traditional aesthetics of the printed page. By transferring the delicate, intimate scale of a paper manual onto the heavy, architectural surface of black canvas, the diagram is monumentalized, hovering suspended between mechanical documentation and stark geometric minimalism.
